How do I sign up? Account

Click the ”Get Started” button on the homepage, fill in your details, and authorize access to your Google, Microsoft, or Hotmail calendar.

Which accounts are supported? Account

We connect to the parent's email account that receives school and club emails. Supported providers are Google (Gmail), Microsoft (Outlook), Hotmail, and MSN. We connect securely using OAuth2 — no passwords are ever stored.

What does the Parent Dashboard show? Dashboard

The Parent Dashboard displays all school events extracted from your emails in one clear view. You can see upcoming events, filter by child or class, and get a quick summary of what's coming up — without having to dig through your inbox.

How does the app extract events from emails? Dashboard

The extraction happens directly inside your own email account — the one that receives emails from the school or club. This can be a Google (Gmail), Microsoft (Outlook), Hotmail, or MSN account. We scan that inbox, extract the event details (dates, times, descriptions), and display them on your Parent Dashboard. The same events are also added to your calendar automatically.

Does it only work for school events? Dashboard

No — Sync School Events handles school events and club events. Whether it's a football match, dance class, drama club, or a parents' evening, if the details arrive in your inbox we'll extract them and display them on your dashboard. It's a curated ecosystem designed to give parents one place to manage everything for their children.

Can I track events from my child's clubs and activities? Dashboard

Yes. As long as the club or activity sends event emails to your Gmail, Outlook, or Hotmail inbox, we'll pick them up automatically — exactly the same way we handle school emails. All events appear together on your Parent Dashboard and in your calendar.

Can I add more than one child? Children

Yes. Add multiple children and link each to their class in Update Account. Each child's events are displayed separately on the dashboard.

Can I share access with my partner, a grandparent, or a carer? Family Access

Yes — this is called Family Access. As the main account holder, go to Update Account and add the person's email address. They will receive an invitation email and can create their own read-only account so they can see all the same events on the dashboard. It's a great way to keep a partner, grandparent, or carer in the loop without them needing to manage anything.

How do I update class when they move up a year? Children

Open Update Account, select the child, and edit their class/year group. Save to apply.

What if siblings are in different schools? Children

Connect multiple school email sources; events are tagged to the correct child.

Can I filter events by child? Calendar

Yes. The Parent Dashboard lets you filter extracted events by child or class, so you instantly see what's relevant to each of your children.

Do events sync automatically? Calendar

Yes. We regularly scan for new school emails, extract the event details, and update both your Parent Dashboard and your calendar automatically — no manual refresh needed.

Which emails are picked up? Email

Any email in your inbox containing event details — including school emails (newsletters, letters, platform notifications) and club or activity emails (football, dance, drama, and more). If it has a date and details, we'll extract it.

Do I need to forward emails to a special address? Email

No. We connect directly to your email account — the one that receives school and club emails. As long as those emails land in your Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail, or MSN inbox, we process them automatically. No forwarding required.

What about emails with multiple dates—what happens? Email

We extract each date and create separate calendar events.

Is my data secure? Security

Yes. We use OAuth2 for Google, Microsoft, and Hotmail and follow CASA Tier-2 / GDPR best practices. We never store your password.

Do you store my emails? Security

No permanent storage of email bodies; we only save the event details needed for your dashboard.

Can I delete my account and data? Security

Yes. Sign in, open Update Account, then use the Delete Account link at the bottom of the page. Limited billing or security records may be retained where required.

Is there a free version? Billing

There is a 30-day free trial when you sign up. After that, plans are £7/month or £80/year.

I don’t see any events—what should I do? Help

Check your Gmail, Outlook, or Hotmail spam folder and confirm school emails are reaching your inbox. If issues persist, contact support@syncschoolevents.com.

What if I change my email address? Help

Update your login email in Update Account, and ensure the school sends to your new address.
